24 North Bailey Club
The Union Bar
Opening Times:
Sunday to Thursday 7pm - 11pm, Friday and Saturday 7pm - 12.00am.
Easter term at 24
From the last week of the exam period, 24 opens earlier in the afternoon so you can enjoy a drink in our newly refurbished garden to celebrate the end of exams and the coming of summer!
The bar opens from 5pm-11pm Sunday-Thursday, and from 4pm-Midnight on Fridays and Saturdays after exams.
The Union Society's very own bar, situated at 24 North Bailey in the centre of town, plays host to many of the Union's events. It is, however, also one of the University's best loved students haunts and is a key feature in any night out on the Bailey. Offering a huge range of cocktails, shooters and imported beers-surpassing most other student bars-24 has a unique atmosphere. Recently refurbished and with its own beer garden, this is a fantastic place to drink all year round.

Other facilities:
24 is much more than just a bar. The beer garden behind is the perfect place to enjoy Pimm's in the summer. The snooker room has been the scene of many a memorable tournament; it is also the only full size snooker in the University which can be used free of charge. The ensuite guest room with a double and single bed is always available for members to book at a subsidised rate. The reading room is available for members to hire both for parties and other societies with which they are involved. We also offer seven large rooms as student accommodation, giving members the chance to live right in the centre of Durham.

Weekly events at 24 NBC:
The Big Bar Quiz
The infamously difficult big bar quiz on Sunday evenings returns for another year of challenges and cash prizes. With a "winner takes all" pot, teams can regularly walk away with £50! This event takes place every Sunday throughout the year, starting at 7:30pm in the bar.
Get involved at 24
24 NBC is run by students for students. If you fancy a shift on the bar, want to help run social events, want to book the reading room or maybe even imagine yourself living upstairs in future years, then just email info@dus.org.uk.
