Application form for the European Debating Championships 2010
Competition Details
Location : Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Competition Dates : 12th – 17th July
Trial Dates: Sunday March 7th 9am
Triallists : tbc.
Payment : The DUS will cover your 250EUR registration fee that pays for entry into the competition, accommodation and most of your sustenance for the week. You will need to cover your transport costs to Amsterdam
Application Pre-requisites
All applicants must be able to guarantee the following things listed below prior to selection. Failure to meet these requirements, as judged by the Debate Selection Committee, may result in you being struck from the team and replaced by one of the reserve members. A good performance at EUDC requires a strong team effort and we will not allow weak links to hamper others success. These requirements are;
- Attendance at a minimum of 1 IV or Open with your partner, or as a judge, during Easter term (See British Debate)
- Attendance at the Durham Open Competition (19th / 20th June)
- Attendance at all Squad Training events in Easter Term (mitigating circumstances will be reviewed and permitted by the DSC)
- Attendance at all extra EUROS Squad training session in Easter term
- Completion of your relevant sections in the EUROS Squad Case File
- Attendance at the Pre-EUROS Training Camp near London (dates tbc)
- Attendance at regular piss ups with Euros squad and especially your partner.
Why Apply for EUDC?
1. All though EUDC takes a lot of work, when you are successful and dominate the annoying buggars you’ve been losing too all year it just seems worth it.
2. It looks much more credible on your C.V and as Debaters internationals are the pinnacle of our... sport??
3. Subsidised trips abroad with copius amounts of free food and free alcohol are AMAZING!!!
4. 600 Debaters + X litres of Alcohol + X grams of pot + an internationally renowned red light district = 1 hilarious week
